BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Through the non-profit “Helping The Hardworking” Barren County invited over 100 farmers to eat for free at the Parkview Event Center.

Jamie Byrd, Barren County’s judge-executive, started the non-profit in 2019 to lend a hand to those who spend their days laboring long hours. She said this is just her small way of bringing the community together as well as giving back to the school system. With Barren County being a big agricultural community for Kentucky, a lot of support is given to the 4H and FFA programs.

News 40 spoke to a teacher and farmer as well, Andy Moore, who told News 40 that tonight is a good night for those who live the agrarian life style because it gives them a morale boost.
