Let’s take a trip! BGISD visits Need More Acres Farm

ALLEN COUNTY – it’s that time of year again where the Bowling Green Independent School District is allowing kids to get a hands on experience on the farm.

At Need More Acres Farm just outside of Scottsville, elementary school students are learning where some of their food comes from.  The program is possible through a grant to the school geared toward providing kids healthy and fresh fruits and vegetables.

This year is their fourth annual farm field trip and it’s been going well so far with a new twist ever year. News 40 spoke to the Director of Food Services, who said she hopes whoever comes after her continues to advocate for education outside of the classroom.
