WKU says main focus is keeping students safe as graduation is canceled
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – What was supposed to be a joyous day on the hill turned into devastation as the community is dealing with the aftermath of early Saturday morning’s storms.
WKU canceled its graduation ceremony. Spokesperson for the university, Jace Lux says that the main concern for the university is making sure that everyone is safe.
There were no injures or fatalities reported among students living on campus. Lux said during an interview with News 40 on Saturday that the campus didn’t experience any serious damage.
The university is still hoping to have a commencement celebration in the near future. Lux says university officials are still discussing the next steps for a graduation ceremony and will be in contact with those graduating.
Housing for students living on campus has also been extended.
