Ash leak at Kentucky power plant sends 3 workers to hospital
OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE) – Three people are injured after a silo leak at a power plant in Ohio County, Kentucky.
The incident happened Wednesday morning at the Big Rivers Electric DB Wilson Station in Centertown.
Authorities initially thought it was a tower collapse, but it turns out, the smoke was coming from a large leak in one of the ash silos.
Three people were hurt, including one person who was buried under the ash.
All three were transported to a nearby hospital.
While the leak has been contained, the cause remains under investigation.
The EPA is monitoring air quality, making sure the air is safe to breathe for employees and residents.
