Booker speaks at BG Freedom Walkers Family and Friend’s Unity Day

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Former Member of the Kentucky House of Representatives (D, 43rd District) Charles Booker spoke at the Bowling Green Freedom Walkers Family and Friend’s Unity Day on Saturday, September 4th.

Booker discussed the importance of helping small businesses, the fight against COVID-19 and showing support to the Bowling Green community.

“Well, we’re dealing with so many difficult times right now,” Booker said. “We have to come together as family, you have to stand in unity and solidarity and that’s what this event means to me. Let’s come together as a community, I just wanted to show love, I want to come to say I’m with you. I love you. I believe in you. I believe in us. We can support the local economy, we can support one another, we can get through this pandemic if we fight and work together.”

The event held by the BG Freedom Walkers featured local black-owned businesses, food trucks, bounce houses and raffles.  The Freedom Walkers also collected donations for Afghanistan refugees who are arriving in Bowling Green.
