As the Carolina coast braces for the impact of Hurricane Florence, longtime WECT (NBC) News Anchor, Frances Weller, tells WNKY this storm could be catastrophic.

"This storm has the potential to be devastating," said Weller.

Residents in New Hanover County, which includes the cities of Wilmington, Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach, may experience the brunt of the storm.

"I’m nervous about this one," said Weller. People are heeding the advice and leaving, however, I live near the beach and all of my neighbors are staying put."

The storm is expected to make landfall either late Thursday night or early Friday morning.
