Kentucky deputy injured in overnight shooting

A Scott County deputy has been shot and a suspect is dead after an incident overnight.

According to LEX 18, this incident happened just before 11:30 last night at a rest stop on I-75.

According to officials, dispatch received a complaint about a person at the rest stop. 

When officials arrived on scene, the suspect and deputy exchanged gunfire.

The suspect, Edward Reynolds, was killed.

The deputy hit has been transported to the U.K. Medical Center and there is no word yet on his condition.
