A Russellville man is behind bars after authorities say they seized nearly six ounces of methamphetamine from his vehicle.

According to the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force, around noon on Friday, agents conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Christopher Abney, 46, for failure to use a turn signal.

Agents say Abney gave consent for a vehicle search where approximately 5.8 ounces or 165.7 grams of methamphetamine was found inside a duffle bag, along with a digital scale.

Abney is charged with both possession and trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and various traffic offenses.

He was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.
