Clear the Shelters returned over the weekend for the 9th consecutive year
Bowling Green, Ky. – Over the weekend, the nationwide pet adoption and donation campaign, Clear the Shelters, returned for its ninth consecutive year.
Locally, shelters in Bowling Green, Butler County, Hart County and Metcalfe County opened their doors to people interested in adopting animals at a discounted price.
Animals that were adopted included dogs, cats, bunnies and guinea pigs.
Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society adoption manager Leah Lawrence says, “Reducing the adoption fees just kind of eliminates one more obstacle for people who might otherwise second guess coming out to adopt a pet, you know, it’s a little bit easier for them to say yes to an animal when they know that they, they can use that money to buy the supplies that they’re going to need once they get home.”
