Anthony Hickey Sr. named Warren Central Athletic Director

Bowling Green, KY. – Thursday afternoon Anthony Hickey was named the newest Warren Central High School Athletic Director.

Hickey has spent time with numerous Dragons programs including girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball, and baseball.

He is taking the reigns from former AD Jason Esters, after helping lead the boys’ basketball team to a State Championship a few months ago.

Hickey shared one of his biggest goals taking over as the AD saying, “The main thing I can say is it’s not just sports, it’s the academics. I don’t think we’re noticed enough on that. So that’s something for me, the counselors, and some other people are going to step up because it’s overshadowed. We do have great young athletes that are scholar students here or just scholar students in the building.”

Hickey continued saying, “It’s not just about the athletic side of it. We got great academics here, but the sports side of it will take care of itself.”
