Wolz ready to become Bowling Green Hot Rods COO
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Earlier this month, the Bowling Green Hot Rods announced the departure of Eric Leach with a new chief operating officer stepping up, his name, Kyle Wolz.
You may recognize him as the team’s general manager, a promotion he received ahead of the season after 10 years with the organization. His start is a shocking one. Wolz lost interest in the game of baseball in eighth grade, but was looking for internship opportunities while at WKU.
“At the time when I was a student at Western Kentucky in the sports management program, I needed an internship to graduate,” Wolz said. “I saw that the Hot Rods had an opportunity available. I applied for it, was accepted and still didn’t really care about baseball.”
So why did he stay in advance at BG Ballpark?
“What really drew me into the industry was the family fun, entertainment and community aspect that the Hot Rods brand and organization has,” Wolz said.
