A night at the SOKY Ice Rink
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Opened in 2016 the SOKY Ice Rink has become a staple for downtown entertainment in the winter months. It allows people to experience ice skating right here at home without having to drive long distances. This is the case for Sarah Murphy and her family. This stay at home mother loves being able to experience a night of fun with her family right here in Bowling Green.
“We are a big hockey family we love to play hockey and, ice skating, all that is to have this, you know, during the winter months is really nice. Instead of having to travel to Nashville or Owensboro and places like that,” Murphy said.
The Ice Rink allows others to experience ice skating for the first time and, in the case of Evelyn Finley, they might find something they love.
“I just love to ice skate and roller skates so much that I just like to do it.
So that’s really kept me coming back,” Finley said.
At the rink with her mother, Finley said she has skated at the rink roughly 10 times and has had a great deal of fun every time.
“I just really like this ice skating rink and I recommend it to anybody that likes to skate,” Finley said.
The SOKY Ice Rink will remain open after the holidays with more to do than just skating. For more information about skating or their other options visit https://www.warrencountyky.gov/soky-ice-rink/.
