We sat down with Med Center Health to learn the impact of quitting this unhealthy habit, and how it affects women and men differently.

Med Center Health and Wellness Director, Sarah Widener shares the negative effects of smoking. Sarah says, “Quitting smoking in general is just overall good for your health. You’re reducing your risk for multiple different cancers. You’re reducing your risk for heart disease, including strokes and heart attacks, but having again, that support system in place, especially for women, because we’re always taking care of everybody else is going to be huge.”
No matter what your gender is, quitting smoking is possible. There are several tips and resources available to make sure you can succeed.
