Kentucky State Police and AAA sharing holiday tips for traffic while traveling
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- Whether you’re driving or flying everyone needs to pack their patience, because the amount of traffic this year is jam-packed.
Between December 23rd through January 1st, these ten days will be the busiest travel period. According to AAA, more than 115 million people will be traveling.
Lynda Lambert, the AAA spokesperson shares why this is happening. She says, “That’s a time when everyone tries to spend as much time as possible with family and friends, but these numbers, again, record-breaking very high because there was still a bit of pent-up demand when it comes to travel.”
This will be the second-highest travel period on the roads, and you may want to take every possible precaution. According to the Kentucky State Police, the roads are crowded this time of year. You are better safe than sorry. Trooper Katan Parker says, “Around the holiday, I-65 gets extremely congested. Like if I were people, I would try to leave decently early to give you a little time and cushion in case of traffic congestion or an unexpected event.”
