Multiple families displaced after Glasgow structure fire
GLASGOW, Ky. – Fire officials say multiple families have been displaced after a fire at a Glasgow apartment structure Thursday afternoon.
The Glasgow Fire Department says it responded around 11:47 a.m. to the 100 block of South Morgan Street.
At the scene, fire officials say a single-family structure converted into a multi-family structure of several apartments had fire spreading through voids in the building. The fire department says the building had undergone several renovations and was believed to be in the process of more at the time of the fire.
Fire officials say firefighters had to breach walls and remained at the scene for a total of three hours.
The Glasgow Fire Department says it believes the source of the fire was electrical.
No injuries were reported, according to officials. However, despite saving the structure, the fire department confirmed several families were displaced.
The fire department received assistance from the Glasgow Police Department, Barren-Metcalfe ambulance services, Glasgow Electric Plant Board and Bridge Kentucky.
