GLASGOW, Ky. – This coming Saturday, be ready to take an alternate route or two.

The city of Glasgow is having their annual Christmas parade Dec. 2, starting at 6 p.m. Starting at noon on Saturday, the Department of Public Works’ Street Department will start to close off thru-traffic on Scotty Drive to help get the floats to Glasgow’s middle and high Schools as well as block off some places around the square.

News 40 spoke to the department today who said with the help of the local police and national guard, the city hopes to have around 180 floats down the street in about an hour after blocking off side streets around 5:30 p.m. The parade stretches just a little over two miles down Columbia Avenue.
