Edmonson County Water District issues boil water advisory

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – The Edmonson County Water District is issuing a boil water advisory due to possible bacteriological contamination.

The water district says the advisory is due to low or no pressure from a main line blowout.

Areas affected include all customers on the south side of Brownsville but not including the City of Brownsville. In addition, communities included are Chalybeate, Rhoda, Pig, Wingfield, Cedar Springs, Rocky Hill, Smiths Grove, Park City area and Fairview.

The advisory will be in effect until water samples are taken and the Environmental Protection Agency determines the threat of contamination has been eliminated.

In order to follow this advisory, boil water at a full boil for at least three minutes.
